Sex Pizzul is an atypical power trio based in Florence, Italy, (the multi-instrumentalist Francesco D'Elia,
bass-player Irene Bavecchi and drummer Simone Vassallo: all three vocalists). The band’s name is a hybrid term
that reunites Bruno Pizzul, a famous newscaster and soccer commentator, with renowned UK punk-legends Sex Pistols.
The trio realizes a coloured mash-up that they use to call mundial-disco-punk because their lyrics narrate football stories,
sometimes true, sometimes invented. Sex Pizzul released their first album Pedate in 2016, a first experiment more
“punk-approached”, and the following LP Anticalcio in 2019, in which a more marked club attitude and an increased
contamination of world music styles emerge.
